I was so thrilled to be commissioned by Aaron Francis to create a series of 4, 4 foot x 6 foot large illustrations based on his photography collection (Vintage Black Canada).
The series is titled "Sibling Revelry" and is now on display at: 2263 Kingsway Dr, Kitchener
In Aaron's own words --- >
"A few months ago when I was approached by Regional Council and former Mayor of Ayr Rob Deutschmann to devise an image series for the facade of his Law Office on Kingsway Drive, I immediately thought of Conan Stark.
Encouraged in no small part by our previous interactions and collaboration (VBCx, 2022), I jumped at the opportunity to once again collaborate with Conan (Best Visual Artist 2023 - Community Edition, Waterloo Region Arts Awards - Recipient 2023) and the results speak for themselves.
Based on images curated from the Vintage Black Canada archive, “Sibling Revelry” is series of four vibrant illustrations that revisits and reinterprets a series of images initially captured by Roy Francis (Waterloo, c.1966) of a sister and her three brothers, comfortable in their own skin, individually (and collectively) reveling in the joys of childhood."
